Bonza, the Australia sibling to Canadian ultra-low cost airline Flair, is being forced to cancel flights as their aircraft get repossessed. Reportedly their entire fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft was seized. The carrier no longer appears viable with all flights suspended.

According to Bonza’s CEO,

Bonza has temporarily suspended services due to be operated today, as discussions are currently underway regarding the ongoing viability of the business.

We apologise to our customers who are impacted by this and we’re working as quickly as possible to determine a way forward that ensures there is ongoing competition in the Australian domestic aviation market.

Just last week the airline was forced to deny reports that they’d brought in an outside restructuring advisor but conceded they would have to reduce services.

Flair, like Bonza controlled by 777 Partners, has seen leased planes repossessed. There are also a number of other accusations of impropriety.
