News 1st | Colombo: Consultation and discussions have been undertaken to promote mutually beneficial cooperation for the development and operation of the Upper Oil Tank Farms in Trincomalee, A spokesperson of the Indian High Commission said.
This was in response to the earlier statement made by Co-Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Udaya Gammanpila where he noted discussions were held with Indian High Commissioner – Gopal Bagley, to reacquire the Trincomalee Oil Tank Farm.
“India and Sri Lanka have identified energy partnership as one of the priority dimensions of their cooperation. India is committed to working together with Sri Lanka for the island’s energy security”
“We look forward to continuing our productive engagement with Sri Lanka in this regard” the Spokesperson noted.
